Introduction: Huang Luqi (Mar.12, 1968-), who was born in Wuyuan, Jiangxi province, is an expert on Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources and Molecular Pharmacognosy. In 1995, he graduated from the Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC) (formerly Beijing Medical University), and obtained his doctorate degree. At present, he is executive vice president and chief researcher of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, director of Chinese Medicine Resource Center and vice president of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. As the leader of the Expert Steering Group for the National Survey of Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources, he took the lead in compiling the Technical Norms for the National Survey of Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources and organized the implementation of the Fourth National Survey of Traditional Chinese Medicine Resources. He put forward and developed the theory of molecularpharmacognosy and theory of formation of authentic medicinal materials. Dr. Huang established five conservation models of rare and endangered traditional Chinese medicine resources and new identification methods for traditional Chinese medicine, which made the molecular identification method become the first to publish in the National Pharmacopoeia. He won four second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2015, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
