Abstract

1,097,223. Swivel scaffold clamps. J. M. MARLEY. May 26. 1965 [April 29, 1964], No. 17698/64. Heading E2B. A swivel scaffold coupling comprising a pair of pivotally interconnected body parts 10, 11 and means 18 for clamping a pair of tubes against said body parts wherein one body part 10 has integrally formed thereon a tubular projection 13a extending through a hole in the other body part and expanded at its free end 13b to form the pivotal connection between the body parts. In the embodiment shown the body parts 10, 11 are of generally cuboidal cup-shaped form, the part 10 having a portion 13a projecting outwardly from the base into a hole in the base 14 of the other body part 11. Each body part is formed with recesses to receive the tubes which are clamped in position by a cover 18 and a bolt 24. The cover and bolt are connected to the body parts in various ways as disclosed in Specification 1,097,225. The body parts may also be of cruciform cross-section (Fig. 7, not shown).
