A simplified preparation of d-arginine

Abstract

Concentration of the digestion mixture of acetyl-dl-arginine with acylase I gave the very insoluble acetyl-d-arginine in high yield and purity. Hydrolysis of the latter compound with HCl yielded d-arginine-HCl nearly quantitatively.
