Measurement of Self‐Diffusion of Silver without Radioactive Tracers

G. C. Kuczynski
Abstract

Abstract A new method dispensing with the use of radioactive tracers has been developed for measurement of volume self‐diffusion. The method is based upon the relationship of the rate of sintering of metallic wires to the coefficients of self‐diffusion. The values of the self‐diffusion coefficients for silver as measured by this method are in good agreement with those obtained by the radioactive tracers method.
