Charles S. Cathcart Charles S. Cathcart, 81, died Dec. 9 in New Brunswick, N. J. He received his B.S. from Ftutgers in 1886 and his M.S. in 1889. He had been state chemist at the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station since 1907, and a member of the AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY since 1894. Richard, B. Earle Richard B. Earle, 70, formerly chemist with A. Harrison & Co., Inc., in Providence, R. I., and an emeritus member of the AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY since 1942, died Aug. 13, 1945, in Cambridge, Mass. William J. Waite William J. Waite, 51, at one time chief chemist for- Hercules Powder Co., died Jan. 1 of a heart attack in Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pa. He was secretary-treasurer and a director of A. Gusmer, Inc., and Schock, Gusmer & Co., Inc., of Woodbridge and Hoboken, N. J., manufacturers of brewery equipment.
