Miticide Ovotran Wettable is a miticide being made by Dow Chemical Co. This product is an extremely fine wettable powder containing o0f/t p-chlorophenyl p-ehlorobenzenesnlfonate. The chemical has been known as K-6451. Dow says it is even more effective as an ovicide than as an adulticide. Depending upon environmental factors, it will kill mites for several weelcs after application. It is said to have low toxicity to warmblooded animals, as well as to parasites and predators of crop pests, and plant foliage. It is also reported to have low toxicity to insect pollenizers which are important to crop production. It has chemical compatibility with" other insecticides and fungicides, including chlorinated hydrocarbons, phosphates, arsenicals, and lime-sulfur, as well as alkaline mixtures.
