This article reports on the plan of the Identity Theft Assistance Center (ITAC) to share identity theft data with the Federal Trade Commission in the U.S. According to Anne Wallace, executive director of Identity Theft Assistance Corp., ITAC officials hope such information sharing will help police investigate identity theft crimes. The ITAC will share information only when victims give their permission.
