USPSTF recommends screening for illicit drug use in adults

Knopf, Alison
Abstract

Last week, the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommended screening for “unhealthy drug use” by asking questions — not by drug tests — in adults. There is a proviso: “Screening should be implemented when services for accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and appropriate care can be offered or referred.”
