Introduction: Prof. Yuri V. Gulyaev, born in 1935, is an expert in solid-state physics, information, electronics and radio physics. He is recognized as one of pioneers in acoustoelectronics, spin-wave electronics, phonon electronics and biomedical electronics. He also made original contributions to fundamental researches, for instance, he discovered B-G Wave; he made innovations in application field, such as instrument making; in recent years, he has applied his research results to micro-nanoelectronics and developed new processes. His achievements won him a number of awards from the former Soviet Union, Russia and European Physical Society. He published 4 books, over 400 papers and owns well over 60 patents. In 2005, he was elected foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
