Tropical Storm Cristina in the Eastern Pacific

Tropical Storm Cristina in the Eastern Pacific

Tropical Storm Cristina formed in the Eastern Pacific on Monday night, becoming the third named storm in the basin so far this season. This storm is forecast to be the first Pacific hurricane of the year, with only two other tropical storms so far this season in the basin (Amanda and Boris).

As of right now, the forecast keeps the Cristina well off the coast of Mexico and tracking farther west into the Central Pacific waters.

Elsewhere in the Tropical Pacific, three other disturbances are being watched for potential development. The National Hurricane Center has a low to medium chance for a new storm to form over the next five days.
