Bermuda Watching for Tropical Storm Teddy after Paulette

15 Sep 2020, 1:00 pm

After Paulette made landfall in Bermuda on Monday with winds gusting over 100 mph it continues to move away from the Island of Bermuda into the northern Atlantic waters. Paulette is about 740 miles north of the Island of Bermuda.  The next storm to watch with interest to Bermuda is Tropical Storm Teddy. Teddy is becoming more organized east of the Windward Islands and will likely become a hurricane tonight and strengthen to a major hurricane within a few days.

Teddy Statistics

Teddy has been slowly increasing over the last 24 hours, now with winds of 65 mph and a pressure of 997 mb. The storm is moving west-northwest at 13 mph.

Teddy Forecast Track

A strong ridge in the Central Atlantic will steer Teddy to the northwest. With warm ocean waters and favorable upper level winds, Teddy is expected to become a hurricane in the next day or so, and will likely become a major hurricane by this weekend. Early next week, the storm may approach areas near Bermuda.
