Berg Insight Releases New Report on IoT Market

A recent report from Berg Insight, an IoT market research firm, show that IoT managed service providers have more than 50 million IoT subscribers worldwide. Between Europe and North America, there is a combined 15-20% of the market share.

As most IoT managed service providers operate as full MVNOs, they use their own core networks and platforms, which feature connectivity management controls.

The key difference for IoT managed service providers is their ability to aggregate an array of wireless wide are networks. This provides greater area coverage, multi-domestic foorprints, and multi-technology connectivity on one platform.

Aeris and KORE Wireless were listed as the top players within North America, registering 14 million and 13 million cellular IoT subscriber respectively at the end 2019. Further, Sierra Wireless established a trans-Atlantic subscriber base with 3.6 million IoT connections in Europe and North America.

As far as Europe goes, Wireless Logic is the largest IoT managed service provider with approximately 3.5 million subscribers.

Per the reports, additional IoT managed service providers are Cubic Telecom, BICS, Arm, Transatel and Eseye having between 2–3 million cellular IoT subscribers each.
