Google Home Hub
I want a Google Home Hub for my kitchen. Right now, I set timers by hollering at the Google Home in the living room; it would be nice to do less hollering. I could listen to music quietly while making dinner as opposed to blasting it across the whole apartment. The Home Hub also acts as a terrific digital picture frame for photos of my beloved, faraway nieces and nephews. It would really tie the place together. —Sascha Segan, Lead Analyst -
iPhone XS Max
I really want an iPhone XS Max! And I just upgraded to an iPhone 8 Plus, thanks to the price drop after this year's smartphone lineup was announced by Apple. But I took a photography class last week, and one of the participants was using the XS Max, and I was very envious—the camera's new features are so cool. Better lens and sensor, low-light ability, sweet computational photography features: I might have to upgrade again. —Carol Mangis, Managing Editor, PCMag Digital Edition -
Sony WH-1000XM3 Headphones
I'm looking at buying the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. They're PCMag's Editors' Choice for the best noise-canceling headphones on the market now, besting Bose. —Michael Kan, West Coast Reporter -
Microsoft Surface Pro 6
I still think about how much I loved using the Surface Pro convertible laptop at work for those blissful months before Microsoft asked us to ship it back. The newer Surface Pro 6 sports a speedy new 8th-generation Intel processor, strong battery life, and a sleek all-black color option to go with its high-res display. It's a nice improvement on what was already one of our favorite 2-in-1s on the market.— Rob Marvin, Associate Features Editor -
Owlet Smart Sock 2 Baby Monitor
As an expecting parent, I'm looking at gifts for my newborn, such as the Owlet Smart Sock 2 Baby Monitor. —Jose Ruiz, Production Designer
I wish I'd had an Owlet. The number of times the phrase "are you sure he's breathing??" was uttered in my house during the first six months was astronomical. App-based proof would have helped. —Eric Griffith, Features Editor

Apple Watch Series 4
Finally, a smartwatch worth buying. It's been a long road with a laundry list of underwhelming wearables, but the Apple Watch Series 4 is on a lot of our wish lists this year. The combination of a larger screen, better call quality, built-in ECG capability and better fitness tracking, plus fall detection makes it a worthy buy if you're willing to pony up for a marquee smartwatch. -
4K TV
Yes, an 8K TV now exists, but I'm a late adopter when it comes to TVs, and I've made a (very unscientific) determination that a critical mass of what I want to watch is now available in 4K. As an added bonus, 4K TV prices have finally entered impulse-buy territory, like the RCA 4K Roku Smart LED TV. —Tom Brant, Hardware Analyst -
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
Speaking of 4K, Amazon's latest Amazon Fire TV Stick is 4K-enabled and comes with an Alexa remote. It's also got HDR10, Dolby Vision, and quick Wi-Fi streaming with crisp performance that still comes in under $50, so it was on several people's holiday wish list. -
Apple MacBook Pro 15-Inch
My trusty old (and I mean old) 27-inch iMac finally bit the dust late last year. And it turns out, I can survive just fine without a home desktop…but that hasn't stopped me from wanting one. New York City apartments are small, though, so I think a desktop replacement like Apple's latest 15-inch MacBook Pro is probably a more sensible choice. It packs a fantastic display and tons of power in a thin and light design that I can use anywhere. Plus, my old computer desk has been completely redecorated, and it definitely can't fit another 27-inch screen. —Alex Colon, Managing Editor, Consumer Electronics -
OnePlus 6T
For the best smartphone coming to market this holiday season that's not made by Apple, we've got our eyes on the OnePlus 6T for its big, glossy screen, powerful processor, and smooth Android operating system experience at a more affordable price than most of the other flagship phones coming out this year.
