I-80 CORRIDOR

We are anticipating poor travel conditions in Utah along I-80 where rain and snow has been falling throughout Saturday. Snow will continue into Sunday morning, causing slow speeds through those mountain passes.

The highest snowfall will occur for the Wahsatch Mountain Range, making for difficult travel. As this system pushes east, we will see 2-4″ along I-80 in Wyoming too from Rock Springs through Cheyenne.

I-84 CORRIDOR

Moving onto the Interstate 84 corridor next, heavy rain and snow showers will continue through Saturday evening and overnight before everything shifts east. Winter Weather Alerts are in place for far eastern Idaho, east of I-84 through Sunday morning. Although we will see a break in the snow activity on Sunday, snow showers redevelop Monday morning into Tuesday.

I-90 CORRIDOR

Heavy snow will continue throughout Saturday and Sunday morning for the I-90 corridor from Idaho into Montana, although the eastern edge of the interstate will be facing the most adverse weather through Saturday evening, with clearing by Sunday morning. Winter Weather Alerts are in place through early Sunday morning, including a Winter Storm Warnings to the southwest of Billings, MT.

The best accumulation will be where the Winter Storm Warning is in place, but still, a widespread 3-6″ will be possible from Bozeman to Billings, making I-90 difficult Saturday into Sunday.
I-70 CORRIDOR

Finally, we end with the I-70 corridor through Colorado, which will face the brunt of this system a bit later into the forecast period: Sunday into Monday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for parts of I-70 whereas the high country will see more significant snow, and has a Winter Storm Warning in place through Monday. Uncertainty still exsists for the Denver metro area forecast, so a Winter Storm Watch is in place until exact snowfall amounts can be ironed out, still 4-12″ will be possible across I-70 causing difficult travel.
