Heavy Snow for the Rockies

Heavy Snow for the Rockies

27 Apr 2021, 6:00 am

Moisture moving across the West will push across the Rockies over the next 24 hours and create very heavy snow. Winter alerts are in effect for the Sierra Madre, Snowy and Laramie Ranges in Wyoming into the Rockies of Colorado.

A cold front dropping across the region will enhance snowfall and re-enforce the chilly temperatures. With substantial moisture aloft, snowfall will increase, especially for elevations above 7,000 feet.

Heavy snow will continue for the higher elevations to start Wednesday. As the cold front moves away from the region Wednesday afternoon, snow showers will gradually diminish.

More than a foot of snow is expected for high country of Colorado and Wyoming. Snowfall accumulations will end across Utah.

We will continue to have coverage of the snow in your western regional forecast at :50 after the hour on WeatherNation.
