BEIJING, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- In 2018, local authorities in China gave full play to their respective advantages to speed up the Belt and Road construction.

For example, Beijing Municipality and Shanxi Province rolled out three-year plans to promote the B&R construction during the period of 2018-2020, respectively.

According to its action plan, Beijing will strengthen its external exchanges, focus on the technology innovation, facilitate the humanities communication, and enhance its service capability.

Shanxi Province will utilize location advantage to accelerate its opening-up and build itself into a new highland for China's opening-up to the outside world.

In addition, provinces of Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Shaanxi, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Tianjin Municipality issued their key working points for B&R construction in 2018.

To be specific, Jiangxi will accelerate the construction of infrastructure such as railways and aviation and fully establish an open transportation network.

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region put forward key tasks in nine aspects, with the focus on the development of marine economic and the promotion of border trade.

Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, issued 38 policy measures to build itself into a transport hub for global communication.

Hebei Province unveiled a plan to advance the international capacity cooperation under the Belt & Road Initiative. Steel is the major industry involved in the province’s international capacity cooperation.

Besides, Liaoning issued a comprehensive pilot zone construction plan, which is the first all-round construction practice innovation plan at the provincial level. It proposed to promote the construction of Northeast Asian Economic Corridor with Russia, Japan, DPRK, ROK and Mongolia and work together to build a community with a shared future in Northeast Asia.

Zhejiang Province released its action plan, supporting Hangzhou city to host Digital Silk Road international conference.

Shanghai rolled out its science and technology innovation action plan and B&R international cooperation project guidance, which provided a solid foundation for continuous scientific researches along the B&R routes.

At the end of last year, the Office of the leading group on advancing Belt & Road development issued an action plan to promote the standard connectivity along the Belt & Road routes from 2018 to 2020. Subsequently, Henan, Zhejiang, Shaanxi and other provinces and cities released their respective action plans on the standard connectivity to promote overseas application of Chinese standards and guide common development of the standards in countries along the routes.
