The winners of the 2018 Gamescom awards were announced Tuesday, as Europe's biggest games conference continues

The event kicked off Tuesday and runs through Saturday in Cologne, Germany. The award nominees were chosen by a jury consisting of international games journalists and well-known YouTubers.

In terms of the awards for each game system, Marvel's Spider-Man won best PS4 game, Ori and the Will of the Wisps was deemed Xbox One's best and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was named best on Switch.

All of the winning titles in the genre and platform categories are eligible for the top award of Best of Gamescom. The categories Best Hardware, Best Multiplayer Game and Best Virtual Reality Game will be evaluated by an international jury of experts, and the remaining awards will be presented Saturday at 3 p.m. in Cologne.
