There is only one thing funnier than a dancing, bouncing Pikachu. It is a dancing, bouncing Pikachu slowly deflating in front of a live audience.

During the Pokemon World Festival 2017, which took place Sunday in Songdo, South Korea, 14 dancers dressed up as Pokemon's Pikachu began a delightful dance routine that included your typical amount of arm flailing, squatting and spinning in place.

Everything was going relatively well until the "You Can't Stop The Beat" number from Hairspray started. A few minutes (at 1m 1s) in, a Pikachu dancer, the lead Pikachu dancer, began to slowly deflate. Before even the ears become fully wilted, the dancer was quickly bumrushed by seven staffers (six more than needed, really) who aggressively carted the poor thing off stage.

Ever the professionals, the other dancers continued on. Near the end of the song (4m 35s), the dancer returns, puffed out to form and sauntering slowly back on stage to a clapping audience. Alas, the universe is still cruel, and before it can join the others, the Pikachu deflates again. The camera pans away in disgust.

This isn't the first time 2017 humiliated a costumed dancer. In February, during the BRIT Awards, a dancer for pop singer Katy Perry fell off the stage during her live performance. Because it was dressed up as a huge (paper?) house, however, a-more-than-usual amount of internet hilarity ensued.

This leaves us with the question: What costumed dancer will 2017 claim next?
