The Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Friday urged the Netherlands to create enabling conditions to keep global semiconductor supply chains stable and unimpeded.

The ministry's comments came after a Dutch court on Wednesday ordered a formal investigation into so-called mismanagement of semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia, an overseas subsidiary of Chinese company Wingtech.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the ministry said the pressing priority is to restore the stability and unimpeded flow of global semiconductor supply chains, which serves the common interests of the industry all over the world, including China and the Netherlands.

The spokesperson expressed hope that the Netherlands will work in the same direction with China and bear in mind the importance of keeping the global semiconductor industrial and supply chains stable to create favorable conditions for the two sides' companies to resolve their internal disputes through constructive consultation.

On September 30, 2025, the Dutch government issued a ministerial decree in attempts to seize control of Nexperia. Beijing has long slammed the move as the improper administrative intervention of the Dutch side in the operations of businesses.
