“Green Technology Helps China-Thailand Industrial Cooperation Upgrade– RCEP’s First Year Cross-Disciplinary Forum on Science and Technology & Carbon Neutrality” Successfully Held

“Green Technology Helps China-Thailand Industrial Cooperation Upgrade – RCEP’s First Year Cross-Disciplinary Forum on Science and Technology & Carbon Neutrality” was successfully held on March 23, 2022. Nineteen relevant leaders from China and Thailand and representatives from international companies attended the forum and delivered speech to discuss the development prospects of green technology.

The conference aimed to promote “Carbon peak, Carbon neutralization” action and the process of regional economic integration in East Asia, and accelerated the green and low-carbon transformation of the whole society. With the guidance of the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CPIT Shanghai), the representative office of the China Council for the Promotion of international trade (CCPIT) in Thailand and International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (IKCEST) under the Auspices of UNESCO, this conference was co-sponsored by Thailand BORTHONG Industrial Estate and Shanghai International Exhibition Center Co., Ltd.

Wang Liping, Minister Counselor of Business Department of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, Chen Shanyi, Minister Counselor of Science and Technology of the Royal Thai Embassy in China, Gu Chunting, Vice Chairman of CPIT Shanghai, Li Feng, Chief Representative of CCPIT in Thailand, Liu Chang, Secretary-General of IKCEST and Director of the General Affairs Office of the Department of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered speeches respectively.

Luo Tieying, Director of BORTHONG Industrial Estate in Thailand, and Wu Jianghong, General Manager of Shanghai Intex Exhibition Co., Ltd., signed a strategic cooperation agreement and delivered keynote speeches respectively. Luo Tieying introduced in detail the development and management standards of Thailand BORTHONG Industrial Estate. She also said that Thailand BORTHONG Industrial Estate, as an ecological park, always regarded low-carbon, environmental protection and sustainable development as an important concept and supported the green development of enterprises. Wu Jianghong introduced the market potential of green technology in China and the development opportunities of Tech G Shanghai International Consumer Electronics Technology Exhibition. Liu Chang briefly introduced IKCEST and mentioned that in the past few years, IKCEST has established a profound friendship and cooperative relationship through IKCEST training programs. IKCEST also concerned itself with the development of green technology and economy in both China and Thailand, hoping to build up a bridge for policy makers, professionals and enterprises in both countries to exchange knowledge, increase understanding, thus promoting future cooperation, benefiting people in both countries.

In the keynote speech section, 12 guests discussed Thailand's investment policy, energy and green technology development prospects, green finance, photo-voltaic new energy, autonomous driving, unmanned ships, zero-carbon smart energy operating systems and other green technology topics. Guests included Dr. Ratchanee Wattanawisitporn, Director of Foreign Investment Promotion Department of Thailand, Professor Zhou Qulan from IKCEST, etc.
