2019年11月30日至12月1日，由联合国教科文组织国际工程科技知识中心（简称“国际知识中心”、“IKCEST”）、西安交通大学和宁夏医科大学主办，IKCEST丝路培训基地承办的第68期丝路工程科技发展专项培训暨宁夏医科大学第三届“丝路纵横”国际学生专题培训在宁夏医科大学国际教育学院顺利举办。来自宁夏医科大学的50名留学生参加本次培训。

 The 68th “Training Programme for Silk Road Engineering, Science and Technology Development” & the 3rd Ningxia Medical University “Silk Road Convergence” Training Programme for international students was held in the School of International Education of Ningxia Medical University from Nov. 30th to Dec. 1st, 2019. It was co-hosted by the International Knowledge Centre for Engineering Sciences and Technology (shortened as “IKCEST”) under the Auspices of UNESCO, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Ningxia Medical University, and was organized by IKCEST Silk Road Training Base. 50 foreign students from Ningxia Medical University registered for the workshop.   

11月30日上午，培训班举行开班仪式，宁夏医科大学国际教育学院直属党支部书记吴川、西安交通大学继续教育学院党委书记张爱萍、西安交通大学外国语学院副教授靳蓉及全体学员出席。宁夏医科大学国际教育学院教学办副主任宋钰主持开班仪式。

Hosted by Song Yu, Vice Chief of Teaching Management Office of the School of International Education of Ningxia Medical University, the opening ceremony was held on the morning of Nov. 30th. Wu Chuan, Directly Affiliated Party Branch Secretary of the School of International Education of Ningxia Medical University, Zhang Aiping, Secretary of the School of Continuing Education of Xi’an Jiaotong University Committee, Jin Rong, Associate Professor of the School of Foreign Studies of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and all the trainees attended the opening ceremony.

宁夏医科大学国际教育学院直属党支部书记吴川致欢迎辞，他代表宁夏医科大学对西安交通大学领导、老师的到来表示欢迎，对丝路工程科技发展专项培训再次选择宁夏医科大学表示感谢。吴书记在致辞中还对本期培训学员提出要求，希望本期培训班的学员们通过本次培训多听讲、多互动、多实践，丰富专业知识，提高应用技能，拓展研究视野，在一带一路倡议下扩大中外文化、教育及科技交流。他表示，希望通过此次培训合作，宁夏医科大学能与西安交通大学、国际知识中心进一步加强合作与交流，培养更多“知华、友华、爱华”的来华留学生。

Wu Chuan made a welcome speech on behalf of Ningxia Medical University and extended a warm welcome to the leaders and teachers of Xi’an Jiaotong University. He expressed his appreciation as Ningxia Medical University was chosen to host Training Programme for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development once again. He hoped that trainees listen carefully in class and have more interactions and practices to enrich their specialized knowledge, improve application skills and expand research horizons so as to expand cultural, educational, and scientific exchanges between China and foreign countries under the Belt and Road Initiative. He also hoped that further cooperation and exchanges be carried out among Ningxia Medical University and Xi’an jiaotong University as well as IKCEST, so as to train more foreign students who know China well, are close to China and love China.

西安交通大学继续教育学院党委书记张爱萍发表讲话。张书记首先代表西安交通大学和丝路培训基地全体成员，对宁夏医科大学对于此次培训的大力支持表示感谢。他介绍了IKCEST丝路培训基地成立的背景、发展目标和意义，并简要介绍了本次培训的课程设置。张书记表示，作为中国和西方世界联系的重要纽带地区，宁夏一直是多民族，多文化典型的聚集地，IKCEST丝路工程科技发展专项培训能再次在宁夏医科大学举办，代表着“一带一路”伟大战略的蓬勃发展更进了一步，也预示着中国与丝路沿线城市的纽带更加紧密，更加长远。希望本次培训的留学生能学有所成，早日成为可堪大任的优秀人才，继续弘扬丝路精神，为丝路沿线国家的发展做出贡献。

Zhang Aiping, Secretary of the School of Continuing Education of Xi’an Jiaotong University Committee, made a speech at the opening ceremony. On behalf of all the members of Xi’an Jiaotong University and the Silk Road Training Base, he extended his gratitude to Ningxia Medical University for their strong support. He introduced the background, development goals and significance of IKCEST Silk Road Training Base as well as the lectures in this training programme. Secretary Zhang said that as an important link between China and the west, Ningxia is a place populated by many different peoples and different life styles. The successful holding of IKCEST Silk Road Training Programme in Ningxia Medical University shows that the Belt and Road Initiative has taken a giant step in its development. And it also indicates a closer and more lasting tie between China and Belt and Road countries. He hoped that all the foreign students participating in this training programme make great achievements in their study and become excellent talents who are ready to take on important responsibilities. He also hoped that these foreign students carry forward the spirit of the Silk Road and contribute their talents to the development of Belt-road countries.

此次培训由西安交通大学资深教授团队亲临授课，课程包括：中国的美食、中国民间传说中的吉祥物、3D打印在矫形外科中的应用、肾细胞癌的诊治进展、一带一路部分国家主要胎儿畸形、中国传统礼仪文化、心血管疾病、糖尿病和肥胖症患者的饮食选择、丝绸之路沿线感染性疾病防控的发展趋势。本次培训内容以医学为主，配合中国传统文化教学，帮助留学生开阔眼界，深入了解中国文化与中国最前沿医学科技知识。

Senior professors from Xi’an Jiaotong University gave lectures on the topics of Culinary Delights in China, Auspicous Mascots in Chinese Myths and Legends, 3D Printing in Orthopaedic Surgery, The Advancement on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC), The Fetus Malformation in Some Countries Along the One Belt and One Road Area, Chinese Traditional Etiquette Culture, Dietary and Policy Priorities for Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, and Obesity, The Trend of Infectious Diseases Control Prevention Along the Silk Road Countries. Focusing on medical science and also covering Chinese culture courses, this programme aimed to help broaden foreign students’ horizon and make them have an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture and the frontier medical science and technology knowledge in China.

目前，IKCEST丝路培训基地已举办68期“丝路工程科技发展专项培训”，共培养了来自100余个国家的6000余名留学生、以及在华外向型企业人员。此次培训，作为丝路培训基地一项重要工作，将在培养丝路人才，服务国家“一带一路”倡议方面发挥重要的作用，同时，也为推动文化、科技、教育交流，为东南亚地区经济社会发展做出重要贡献。

Up till recently, 68 sessions of IKCEST Training Programmes for Silk Road Engineering Science and Technology Development have been held by Silk Road Training Base, training more than 6,000 foreign students and staff from export-oriented Chinese Companies from over 100 countries. As an important mission of the IKCEST Silk Road Training Base, this training programme plays an important role in cultivating talents and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative. In the Meanwhile, it also made important contributions to the economic and social development of European, Asian and African Belt-Road countries and regions.

IKCEST是联合国教科文组织下属二类中心，2014年6月在北京成立，依托中国工程院建设，旨在面向世界各国尤其是发展中国家的政策制定者、广大工程科技工作者提供咨询、科研、教育等知识服务。2017年2月，国际知识中心依托西安交通大学，设立“IKCEST丝路培训基地”，为“一带一路”沿线国家培养工程科技人才。

IKCEST is a category II centre under the auspices of UNESCO and was established in June 2014 in Beijing. Chinese Academy of Engineering is responsible for the operation and management of the IKCEST. IKCEST aims to provide knowledge-based services at a global scale in the form of consultancies, scientific research and education for policy-makers and engineering science and technology professionals in the world, with particular reference to the developing countries. In February 2017, based in Xi’an Jiaotong University, IKCEST Silk Road Training Base was established, which aims to train more engineering science and technology talents for Belt-Road countries.
