No patients hospitalized with COVID-19 on the Chinese mainland have died for almost four months, a health official said on Wednesday.

Guo Yanhong, an official in the National Health Commission's medical administration and supervision department, made the remarks at a news conference held by the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council.

Except for deaths being revised after data verification, the last time a COVID-19 death reported was on April 14 in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, according to a CGTN report citing NHC figures.

This has fully demonstrated that China's experience, methods and strategies in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients work well and can stand the test, Guo said. All these experiences, methods and strategies have been included in the newly released eighth edition of the Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia, she added.
