Deputy Minister of Education visits UNESCO Iraq Office

His Excellency Dr. Falah Al-Qaisi, Deputy Minister of Education, visited the UNESCO Iraq Office in Baghdad. During the visit Deputy Minister met with the Mr. Santosh Khatri, Chief of Education, and the UNESCO Education Team to discuss the ongoing cooperation between UNESCO and MoE.

The Deputy Minister expressed MoE’s appreciation for UNESCO’s continued support and efforts in improving and strengthening the education system in Iraq through strategic projects. The Deputy Minister also highlighted the importance of continued efforts in distance education and learning and requested for UNESCO’s support.

On behalf of the UNESCO Iraq Education Team, Mr. Santosh Khatri thanked the Deputy Minister for his visit and for his active engagement in supporting and facilitating the implementation of UNESCO projects in Iraq. Together with the team, Mr. Khatri briefed the Deputy Minister on UNESCO’s ongoing projects and reiterated continued support in further improving and strengthening teaching and learning, including distance education.
